Beautiful Red Dianthus or Carnations, we have been growing for a few years, using in our homemade teas and smudges. And NOW fresh red Dianthus flowers for a special fresh ingredient. I'm excited.
YES Dianthus flower and/or petals are all edible.
Flavoring beverages, including wine making, cordials, cocktails, simple syrups for beverages or desserts and More!
In history, Dianthus have been used for medicinal properties, some species including carnations are a great source of essential oils.
Dianthus Flowers can be used for herbal tea and tea blends. Traditional flowers used in tea include red tropical hibiscus, roses, Dianthus, and mint.
Besides these stunning bright flowers eye appeal in the garden. Maybe brighten your plate with creative dishes using this eye-catching appeal. Bright Red Edible Flowers, everything to me is beautiful about that.
Flowers we love always have some symbolic meaning or significance with us through history, with translations and name meanings. Dianthus spp., hold a deep Christian significance.
They were associated with the nails used in the Crucifixion.
The Name dianthus translates to "flower of God" and can be found represented in many illuminated manuscripts through history.
Now go enjoy the garden and Happy National Gardening Month. , Ginger Hill

KEEP CALM & GO GREEN
With experience in making homemade products, and little cookbooks for the church and my girls, and now with more focus on homesteading, and sustainability, doing it, and the rising cost of everything...well, Here we are.
I'm going to say it, "every homestead should have herbs", Ginger Hill.
I'm gradually transitioning...what works for me, my household items, as things empty out, saving the container if I can and replacing it with my own. So that brings you to making your own decisions of products, every household is individually different, and there are MANY MANY MANY aspects of Going Green.
Laundry Detergent recipe is NOT FOR He washing machines.
The old fashion method of washing clothes in pure soap is still one of the most reliable ways of doing laundry, and still is the least in cost. Even if you have a
He washing machine this is one for the book, if you ever need to wash something by hand this gets the job done.
